The main gate for the quarry stands in front of the intersection of the roads Monchique - Portimão and then, the one leading to Marmelete and farther.
The company exploring the quarry is "Carlos Vida Larga Lda" and this is a nepheline syenite quarry, located in a place called Lugar da Nave.
