Figures are from George Herring's book, America's Longest War. 1950 - 1975. The 20,553 were only in the last four years of the conflict.
All together 58,000 U S soldiers died in Vietnam.
According to the DAV, there are 263,526 disable veterans just in California.
Of the names on the Vietnam Wall, eight of them are women who were there as nurses. Many of the wounded went first to Travis AFB hospital and some to Yountville VA hospital.
