Quick Description: Pioneer homesteaders Hans and Lida Berthusen lived on this farm just west of Lynden. When Hans passed away we bequeathed the remaining forest to the City of Lynden to be used as a park. In his honour this monument was erected.

Of the public as a
Perpetual park: to the
City of Lynden; under
The terms of the will
Of Hans C. Berthusen
Whose homestead contained
This forest and stream
Which he loved and so
Generously desire all
People to enjoy.
