This small stone building located close to the railway station on Paradise Road is the former weighbridge clerk's office.
It would have been from here that the clerk would have organised the weighing of carts laden with coal which had just arrived by rail before they continued to their various destinations.
The small metal sign is bi-lingual, the text reads:

HAD TO BE WEIGHED HERE.
