When you live in a semi-arid or arid area such Colorado, you know about irrigation and water rights. Centennial Park (
visit link) in Rifle features a miniature Parshall Measuring Flume as part of the water park features. While the park was closed for the season, there is a nearby gate where visitors may control the amount of water that passes through the flume.

visit link) for a plaque honoring Ralph L. Parshall who developed this flume in 1921 at Colorado Agricultural College's (now Colorado State University) hydrology lab in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA.
