CZ: Kríž je poslední pripomínkou zrušeného hrbitova, který ležel pri románském kostele sv. Jana Krtitele (pripomínán již roku 1141). Sloužil vsi Obora, kterou v prostoru dnešních ulic Šporkova, Jánská a Jánský vršek založily ceské královny (ves poprvé pripomínána roku 1278. Na hrbitove pri kostele byla pohrbena rada velmi významných barokních umelcu pusobících v Praze (rytec Jíljí Sadeler, sochar Jan Antonín Quittainer a architekti Anselmo Lurago a Jan Blažej Santini - Aichel).
ENG: The cross is the latest reminder of abolished cemetery around the Romanesque church of St. John the Baptist (first mentioned in 1141). It served the village Obora, in the area of today's streets Sporkova, Janska and Jansky Vršek (village was first mentioned in 1278). In the cemetery around the church was buried a number of very important Baroque artists working in Prague (engraver Jiljí Sadeler, sculptor Jan Antonín Quittainer and architects Anselmo Lurago and Jan Blazej Santini - Aichel).
