The Christ Lutheran Church was found in 1859 by Lutheran immigrants from Germany. The current Christ Lutheran Church building was constructed 1872 in a Gothic Revival style. Over the years the building has been renovated to add accessibility, air conditioning and an education wing. The German roots of the church can be found on the date stone for the building which is in German and also many of the early gravestones in the adjacent cemetery are also in German.
The church is a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS).
