Elegant three columned monument dedicated to Butler County World War II casualties. This memorial is located in a quiet area of the Greenville City Hall grounds.
An eagle holding a branch is engraved in the top of the front middle column. Underneath the eagle is engraved, "Dedicated to the glory of God and in grateful memory of all those Butler Countians who served their country in the cause of freedom."
Engraved on the back are the words "These made the supreme sacrifice" followed by the names of the casualties listed by year, then in alphabetical order. The military branch in which each served is listed after the name.
The memorial is a project of the Greenville Lions Club.
