Nakhon Sawan ('heavenly city') is found ~250 kilometres north of Bangkok, a quiet city of rice and light industry. Its one major claim to fame, the city is centred on the confluence, that creates the Chao Phraya River, the main river of central Thailand. With a population of ~90,000 it is larger than other cities in the region. The city lies on both a bus and train route.
Apart from this, one more city of central Thailand, however, a pleasant spot to spend a day or three. There are lots of hotels, restaurants, and even a mall or two.
The new and impressively majestic city government offices are found a little to the north of the city centre, against one of the many Buddhist wats to be found in the city. It looks to be constructed in a European style. Adjacent is a small park.
