Beginning point of the John Hunt Morgan Heritage Trail 1863 in Indiana. On July 8, 1863, Confederate General; John Hunt Morgan and 2,000 cavalrymen crossed the Ohio River from Brandenburg, Kentucky into Indiana, beginning a historical, 6 day, raiding adventure...ending on July 13,1863 when Morgan and his raiders departed Indiana into Ohio with Union forces in chase. It was the only military activity in Indaina during the Civil War.
