Armado português, Balthazar Fortes chegou ao Brasil em 1808, junto a corte depois de muito, trabalhar foi fazendeiro de café e proprietário de extensa área de terra no sul de Minas. Passou a morar em Ubatuba e teve a maior fortuna litorânea. Foi o construtor do casarão do porto em 1846.
Armed Portuguese, Balthazar Fortes arrived in Brazil in 1808, with the court after much work was a coffee farmer and owner of extensive land area in the south of Minas. She lived in Ubatuba and had the greatest fortune coast. It was the builder of the house of the port in 1846.
