The Potter's Covered Bridge crosses the West Fork of the WhiteRiver, off of Allisonville Road on the northern side of Noblesville, Hamilton County. This double span Howe Truss structure has a length of 259 feet, or 265 feet including the 3-foot overhang at each end, with a portal clearance 18 feet wide by 13 feet high. The bridge was named for its relationship to land owned and farmed by William A. Potter (1838-1883); the site previously being known as Potter's Ford. The construction company of Noblesville resident Josiah Durfee, who was paid the sum of $13,000, built the structure in 1871. Potters Covered Bridge was first restored in 1937, however, the road eventually bypassed it in 1971. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, in 1999 Potter's Bridge Park was dedicated where the bridge became the centerpiece of a beautiful site that includes a picnic area, playground and modern restroom facilities. The renovations also included a sprinkler system making this one of only three bridges in Indiana thus equipped. This bridge was listed as #14-29-01 in the 1989 World Guide.
