This is the third highest rated trip in Florida from the web site:
Haw Creek Preserve. The Haw Creek Preserve, located in north Florida, is perfect for the kayaker that enjoys exploring as well as fishing. According to Flagler County, the Haw Creek Preserve boasts over 1,015 acres of land and water to explore. You’re going to want to start out at Russell Landing and then proceed to head downstream under a canopy of live oaks and palm trees. Be on the look out for gators, wild hogs, bald eagles and powerboat traffic. Black crappie, warmouth, bluegill and bowfin fish can be found in the murky waters. All in all, Haw Creek Preserve is one of the best places to kayak in Florida.
Parking/put-in/launching information:
Haw Creek Preserve is a dusk to Dawn park so getting in and out is based upon daylight hours. Small unimporved launching areas is ideal for canoes and kayaks.


Paddling conditions to be expected:
Flat black water conditions. Sometimes logs and vegetation can cause portage issues. Haw creek has little if any current and has many twists turns and forks. GPS and a good map should be brought.

Novice paddler some navigation experience required
