This statue stands under the sign in front of the Delmar Smith Kennels. Established in 1945, the business provides boarding, obedience and gun dog training for all breeds. They have trained many champions.
Under the wood sign is a life-size bronze statue of a boy and his dog. The boy is dressed in shirt and trousers and has a backpack on his back. He is walking at a fast clip, with his dog on his left. The dog appears to be a spaniel breed. The boy has a smile on his face, and the dog's head is lifted up and full of spirit. This is a feel-good sculpture to view.
