El Carmen church is a Catholic temple in Cadiz.
It was built in from 1737 to 1762 in Barroque style comanded by the master builder José Bolaños.
The central nave is higher than the sides that are shaped by numerous Chappels of patronage. The nave is covered with a barrel vault and under the dome decorated with scallops there´s the cross.
Their altars are made of gilt wood in Baroque rococo style, including the altarpiece of the chapel from the eighteenth century.
In the central altar the image of the Virgen del Carmen is venerated under a canopy.
The facade is very slender, with three bodies with pilasters, leaving large clean room decor, it focuses on the cover of marble, with two bodies of Ionic columns and garlands of flowers. Noteworthy are the two steeples that crown the façade, showing all the fantasy of baroque decoration.
