"The Canada Central Railway Bridge, approximatley 18 meters long and 3 meters high, is a single span stone arch bridge built over the Ontario, Ottawa aqueduct in 1873. There is a one meter metal railing on the east side of the bridge to protect pedestrian from falling into the aqueduct as water still flows under the bridge on its way to the Fleet Street Pumping Station. Including the Canada Central Railway Bridge, there are 5 other stone arch bridges over the aqueduct in Lebreton Flats. They were all built circa 1873 over a distance of approximately 700 meters. The railway tracks which used to cross at that location have been removed and grass now grows where the deck used to be. For this reason only the eastern extremity of the bridge can still be seen."
