"The Broad Street Bridge, approximatley 20 meters long and 3 meters high, is a single span stone arch bridge built over the Ontario, Ottawa aqueduct in 1873. There is a one meter stone railing on each side of the bridge to protect pedestrian from falling into the aqueduct as water still flows under the bridge on its way to the Fleet Street Pumping Station. Including the Broad Street Bridge, there are 5 other stone arch bridges over the aqueduct in Lebreton Flats. They were all built circa 1873 over a distance of approximately 700 meters. Initially, Broad Street used to cross the bridge at that location, but it no longer does due to changes to the landscape made throughout the years. The bridge has a paved deck allowing pedestrians and bikers to cross from one side of the aqueduct to the other."
