Wallace Air Force Station - Abandoned Air Force Radar Sites on Waymarking.com

AC&W radar, LF navigation beacon, communications site, Ryan Firebee drone launch and recovery facility, Voice Of America transmitter site, lighthouse and a very nice little beach. I worked search, height and ancillary equipment, pulled guard duty and in my spare time, drank cold San Miguel beer at the site club.
The sight suffered through an earthquake with little damage and through 2 typhoons which did some damage but nothing unrecoverable. We dismantles an AN/MPS in 70 knot winds to keep it from being lost. During the second typhoon, the local lighthouse keepers goat came into the barracks for shelter and had to be coaxed out from all floors after the storm passed.
