Puvodne gotický dum byl renesancne prestaven po požáru v roce 1561. Jeho stavitel byl ovlivnen italským renesancním stavitelstvím. Vystavet jej nechal Jan Broum z Chomutovic a posléze ve stavbe pokracoval Jan Krž z Plotišt (erby obou majitelu a jejich manželek se dochovaly v prujezdu domu). Pozdeji byl dum klasicistne a empírove upraven. V dome v jeho historii sídlil královský purkrabí. Pozdeji zde sídlilo Chrámové družstvo, které dodávalo zarízení, nábytek a sochy do ceských a moravských kostelu. Koncem 20. let 20. století bylo na prucelí obnoveno puvodní renesancní psaníckové sgrafito. Nyní je zde Galerie M a ve sklepení Muzeum strašidel.
Originally Gothic house was rebuilt in Renaissance style after a fire in 1561. Its architect was influenced by the Italian Renaissance. The house was the seat of royal burgrave. Later housed the Temple team that supplied equipment, furniture and sculptures in the Czech and Moravian churches. End of the 20th of the 20 century facade was restored to the original Renaissance Sgraffito.
