The bell tower is part of the oldest still operating building in the area of Brno. In 1104 gave Oldrich of Brno and Litold of Znojmo meadows and other lands near Brno to benedictine monastery in Trebic. Benedictines built the church here at the end of the 12th century, whose walls are preserved today as the nave. The tower was biult in years 1788-1796 during the baroque reconstruction. Last repairs were Neo-Gothic in the early 20th century.
