The placard accompanying these gates reads:

"Gates to the Firestone
Factory, demolished 1980

The Firestone tyre factory in Brentford
closed in November 1979 with the loss
of 1,500 jobs . The 51-year-old factory was
out of date, its production line designed
for cross-ply tyres rather than the more
modern radials.
Six months after closure, the art-deco
factory was controversially demolished
by property developers Trafalgar House."

The gates reflect the art-deco style with a mesh of vertical and diagonal lines leading to a sunburst design near the top. The gates appear to be made of bronze.
The London Museum is open everyday 10 to 6 p.m. There is no admission fee.
