This mosaic floor was part of a dining room from 300 AD in Roman London. The floor is so perfectly preserved that it almost appears to be a modern carpet. It has two sections..one a star like design with a circle in the middle with each of the designs having more intricate designs within. There is a floral design separating the star from the semi-ciruclar design which has an outer ring depicting a knotted brais design, followed by two additional inner rings...each with unique designs. The colors are mostly red, yellow, black and white.
This floor is located in the Museum of London which does not charge a fee. The Museum is open every day from 10 to 6 without any admission fee. See the Museum's website at (
