Gruzenga intends for his work to welcome the various interpretations of all viewers, bring their experiences and understanding to the sculptures.  Through his work, he studies the absolutes and variables of form and creates sculptures that are predominately based on utilitarian, man-made items rather than objects of nature.  He enjoys visiting his sculptures after a fresh snow to see the footprints or viewers who've taken the time to observe his work.  "Each person goes on about their life with an experience, good or bad, based on their understanding of the sculpture."
