This sub post office has been there since at least the 1940s, In the 1950s it was a post office counter on one side of this single room store, and a small counter on the other side was a tiny general store.
The office now displays the official Post Office corporate Logo and colours, but in the 1950s & 60s The store had "Mc Donnell Road" spelt out in plain wooden letters.
There has always been a Red phone box, and a pillar box outside this sub post office. The pillar box is marked up GR
