It was constructed in 1932, and represents an integration of Beaux-Arts planning and massing with Art Deco detailing and stylization. The building is sited along the east side of the Genesee River directly above the Johnson and Seyour millrace and Rochester Subway" (
visit link) contradicts the physical stone, however, it may have taken 2 years to construct the basement level around the millrace and subway bed (which had been and Erie Canal feeder prior to being a subway bed).
