The firefighter memorial is part of the Indiana Law Enforcement and Firefighters Memorial. The memorial was dedicated June 6, 2001, three days before the 2001 opening of the World Police and Fire Games that were held in Indianapolis. The memorial has a bronze medallion depicting a firefighter shield mounted on a pylon. Behind the pylons are thirty-three granite panels in eleven groups of three with the names of Indiana firefighters who have died in the line of duty etched into the granite. The panels are arranged in an arch mirroring those of arrangement of the law enforcement memorial.
