This redundant Victorian Post Box is located in the walls of part of Branksea Castle on Brownsea Island.

The box is not sealed and is in good condition with the lettering still legible. It can be seen as you disembark the ferry and venture onto Brownsea Island.

Branksea Castle was rebuilt after a great fire in the Victorian era. The red brick is part of the facing of the Castle and outbuildings.
