This historic stone arch bridge was designed by city engineer J Y McClintock and constructed in 1893. Six of the shallow arches cross the Genesee River and two more cross the Johnson and Seymour Raceway and the Erie Canal feeder on the east.
The historical significance of this bridge is listed as both event and architecture/engineering.
Submitted for National Register of Historic Places as part of the Genesee River Stone Arch Bridge thematic group ( (

"The Court Street Bridge (1893) and Andrews Street Bridge (1891) were both designed by city engineer J. Y. McClintock. They are identical in design, detail and construction. The Court Street Bridge has six shallow arches ove the river and two over the Johnson & Seymour Raceway and Erie Canal bed at the east side of the river. The shallow arch spans are 52 feet and the rises vary from 13 to 20 feet. The bridge is faced in a soft rock-faced red sandstone with regular coursing. At the base of each pier on the upstream side of the bridge are short round snadstone buttresses to divert water and debris from the bridge piers."
