This log church built in 1799 is built in a post-on-sill manner, a typical French Creole method of the era. The walnut vertical logs are are placed on a horizontal base. The roof timbers are oak, and the roof itself is made of cypress clapboards covered with sycamore. The entire chruch is built without nails, using wooden pegs instead. The church was restored in 1949 when a covering of clapboarding was removed.
