This 2006 sculpture by Alan Wilson honors the "Building Worker". The plaque indicates:
"For the thousands of building workers who have lost their lives at work, we commemorate you. For the thousands of building workers who are today building and rebuilding towns and cities across the United Kingdom we celebrate you."
There is a logo of a hard hat for "UCATT" underneath which stands for the Union of Construction, Allied Trades and Technicians.
The sculpture depicts a man standing with a tool belt, heavy boots and a hard hat. He rests a piece of steel (a tool?) over his left shoulder.
Sector of the workforce: construction workers
Created or Donated by which group: Union of Construction, Allied Trades and Technicians
