This is a small helipad that serves the Palomar Observatory.

I presume this helipad was built as the road to the observatory would be impassible after a winter storm.

What facilities are available to passengers?: Washrooms are nearby. Other facilities are minimal.

What identifies the location as a helipad?: A circled "H" lies on the service road. Also a compass rose can be seen.

Where were the coordinates taken relative to the landing pad?: About 50 feet away, on the visitor's path.

Separate from an airport: yes
