In Boston's Back Bay section there is a stone fire station with a plaque mounted on the outside. The plaque has the following on it:
"Dedicated to the memory of Cornelius J. Noonan
April 2, 1890 - Feb. 10, 1938
Who departed this life through injuries received the discharge of his duty
Erected by the Boston Sparks Association
- 1938 -"
This plaque is located at one end of an arch over the garage door of the fire station. There are three other plaques as well.
The name is listed on the Boston Fire Department's web site, along with many other names. He was assigend to Engine 33 (still located at this building), and his rank was horseman.
