Undine Falls is located on Lava Creek where it spills over the edge of a basalt lava flow that is about 700,000 years old. The falls is about 60 feet high in a three-tiered drop. Early names for this falls include East Gardner Falls, Cascade Falls of the East Gardiner, and Gardiner River Falls. In 1885 geologist Arnold Hague named the falls Undine for the water spirits of German mythology who live around waterfalls.
There is parking area with good view of the falls along the Grand Loop Road.
