An out of use school building that now serves the community as a public house and a carpet warehouse.

The school closed as a school in the 1970's and had a large population of children of both sexes due to the proximity to Black Park, a huge colliery nearby. With miners comes minors, and they need somewhere to be educated, here was the place up until 1970 when they moved to their current location just up the road at the rear of an estate.

Above the two windows can be seen the shield with the symbol of the school on it, but it is quite well worn.

On the top of it can still be seen the school bell tower where the end of play and lunch would have been rung to call the children in or out.
