East Longmeadow, once a part of Longmeadow, MA, celebrated the 100th anniversary of its incorporation as an independent town by commissioning a monument to be placed in front of the Town Hall.

A 5' diameter circular stone monument is incised with images celebrating East Longmeadow's quarrying heritage. In the foreground, inside the circle, is a crane lifting a block of stone from a quarry hole. Above the crane is a quarryman standing on a cart, next to a block of stone being drawn by an ox. In the background there are train tracks in front of a railroad station. Arount the outside of the circle is the inscription:
