East Longmeadow, once a part of Longmeadow, MA, celebrated the 75th anniversary of its incorporation as an independent town by commissioning a monument to be placed in front of the Town Hall. The circular locally quarried redstone monument was donated by the McCormick Longmeadow Stone Company and designed by Douglas J. Beck. Stonecutters, Christian Paine and Leo Giancola, carved the design. The monument was dedicated June 17, 1969.
The 5' diameter monument is carved on both sides and depicts the East Longmeadow Town Hall in the center of a circle with the date 1894 on the left and 1969 on he right. The upper part of the circle is inscribed EAST LONGMEADOW and the lower part of the circle is inscribed 75THANNIVERSARY.
