Long Description:
An obelisk on the north side of the road in the grounds of a chapel in Capel Bangor, a few miles east of Aberystwyth.
It is a monument to the memory of Thomas Edwards, a local man who moved to Bala and became the local headmaster of a Welsh language school, that was considered a bad social move, however he is remembered now as a great man who held up the traditions of the language, one that is much older than the current English language.
The monument four sided and is around 3.5m tall and appears to be made from granite.
