Prior to visiting the site, it is advisable to check the time of the tide, since the number of birds aquatic at this location varies strongly with the tidal cycle (the information is available at
www.hidrografico.pt). The high tide should be avoided, because this time there are few aquatic birds on site. in low tide, the birds are usually around the estuary and are sometimes very far being difficult to see well. Thus, the best time to see birds is during the flood (three to four hours after low tide) or ebb (two to three hours after high tide).
The best observation point is located in front of the center of environmental animation, and it is recommended remain there for an hour or more, watching the movements of birds. The wooden platform
that exists under the trees is a good place for observation.
Estimated size of the public land (in regional measurement standard: hectares, acres, kms, etc.): 14.192 hectares is the size of the Reserve here the place is integrated.
