This waymark involved finding a life guard station, which Bill Griffith says is in Pacific Palisades, California. These stations are scattered along the beach every quarter mile or so. Finding the right one, involved matching the surrounding terrain with the strip.
The beach at Pacific Palisades is part of Will Rogers State Beach. I found at least 4 of these stations, numbered 8, 10, 12 and 14. Number 10 was close to the entrance to the state beach and when standing on the beach, was a match of the hillside behing the station. The others did not match the terrain at all, so I decided station 10 was the scene that Zippy visited.
Since I visited in the late fall time frame, the ramp was set to the side of the building to prevent easy access, so the pictures show the ramp at the side, but I believe the hillsides behind are definitive.
