Homem com Leão (Man with Lion) is a sculpture representing a reclined male figure with a Lyon whose mouth pours water into the lake can be found in the Jardim da Estrela (Estrela Garden) in front of the gate to Rua da Estrela.
It has an unknown origin and date probably from 1876 being one of two statues (The other, Man and a Dog is also in the garden) representing Portuguese rivers and ceded to the City Hall at that date the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, referred to as having no artistic merit.
The garden is open from 07:00 to 24:00
