135 Walnut St. was built before 1900, when it became Anderson Saloon. It later was home to Yampa Valley Bank, which moved from Norvell's Mercantile on Jefferson. Later this building housed the J & J Cafe, which at one point was robbed 2 times in 3 weeks! The next ad in the newspaper warned "Subject to being robbed at any time, bring your own gun or knife." Today Elkhead Quilters occupies this storefront.
