Wouldham Village. A small village on the River Medway in Kent. For a small village it has some good history behind it. The best is that in All Saints Church is the grave of Walter Burke. Walter Burke was the Purser on HMS Victory. It was Walter who held Nelson in his arms as he died.
There was once docks here in the village, and a small ferry that crossed the Medway. The elegant carved wooden sign shows the five significant facts about the is village. The Church where Walter Burke lies. The Ship that looks like HMS Victory, but could also signify the docks that were once here. The wavy blue line of the sea, as here the river is tidal. The invicta Horse, the symbol of Kent, and bales of hay to signify the farmland around the village.
