This earth globe is located at the intersection of S.Mint Steet and W. Stonewall Street. It is on the opposite corner of the same intersection with the Bank of America Stadium, located at 800 S Mint Street, Charlotte, NC.
The globe is also a fountain, but the surface of the globe is so smooth that the water is not visible going across it. You only notice the water if you touch the globe or if you look at the bottom portion and notice the water dropping off the surface into the small catch mote around the globe that recycles the water. The continents are deliniated by white etchings outlining the profile of the land masses. There is not color change from land to sea and no mountain ranges or other geographic characteristics shown other than the outline of the land meeting the oceans. Nonetheless, the globe is large enough to give refined shape to the continents. Some islands are also marked. No marker was attached to the base that indicated who created the globe.
