The Brandenburg Gate was a symol for the division of Germany for decades until 1990. It is nowadays a symbol for the reunion of Germany.

It was built from 1788 to 1791.

The Brandenburg Gate is presented on the reverse side of all German 10, 20 and 50 Cent coins.
