MacArthurs's Ball is a tribute to Lt. General Arthur MacArthur a native of Chicopee and the father of Douglas MacArthur. A 6' diameter sphere of highly polished black granite is supported upon a lighter colored triangular granite base embellished with scrolls at each vertex. It was originally located east of its present location on busy Route 141 and later moved to a quieter spot on Church Street. On the north face of the base is the inscription:
