Sandstone statue of Jesus Christ holding the Cross in one hand was installed next to road between villages Pohled and Cejkovice (near Chrudim in East Bohemia) in 1945, probably as a thank for the end of WW II. On the pedestal there is a quotation from Matthew 16:24-26 "Take up Your Cross and follow me (Vezmi kríž svuj a následuj mne)".
"Jesus of Nazareth (7–2 BC/BCE – 30–36 AD/CE), commonly referred to as Jesus Christ or simply as Jesus or Christ, is the central figure of Christianity. Most Christian denominations venerate him as God the Son incarnated and believe that he rose from the dead after being crucified."
