The memorial consists of a three-sectioned granite marker behind a flagpole bearing the United States flag. In the center granite section is an engraving of the Kearney Fire Department emblem and the following inscription:

Wno Sought No Glory of
Their Own But to Serve
This Community and Whose
Devotion to Duty Will
Remain Ever a Source of
Inspiration to the Living.
May 30, 1960

The left granite section includes the following inscription:

The right granite section includes the following inscription:

"Always Ready"

Atop both the left and right section is a round metal plaque bearing the emblem and name of the Kearney Fire Department.
