Reflexo do Céu, Navegante (Reflection of Heaven, Navigator) is a work of the Japanese artist Susumu Shingu.
It´s a Kinetic sculpture composed of three blades,(which recalls a helix configuration or the seed of Tipuana Tipu tree also known as rosewood) that, with the wind, describe a vertical rotary motion around themselves. These blades are fixed to the mast by a slender spurs spinning and the whole set is designed in polished stainless steel, a fact which gives it a reflecting surface of the surrounding environment - soil, horizon, sky. The piece thereby generates a kaleidoscope effect evident in the changing images of mirrors, under the perpetual dynamism of its members.
Susumu Shingu (1937) lives and works in Osaka. He has participated in several exhibitions and is particularly interested in Kinectic works.
