As you drive through West Warren in Route 20 there is a small park on the northeast corner of Main and Albany Streets. On prominent display is a late 19th century fire bell. A short distance away is the West Warren Fire Department on 20 Albany Street. The thinking being that the bell is more noticeable from the main highway in this location.

Small New England towns relied upon bells such as this to summon firefighters in the event of a fire. The bell is mounted a pair of concrete blocks about 2 feet off the ground. It was cast in 1887 by the William Blake & Co. of Boston.
