These two giant dogs are sitting on round concrete pads within the off-leash dog park at the north end of Allan Gardens. The blue dog sits within the enclosure provided for the smaller dogs while the green dog is at the opposite end of the off-leash park in the general enclosure. Even though these dogs are quite far from each other they are each positioned on their concrete pads so they can watch each other. Although the forms of the dogs are quite basic and almost cartoonish their eyes are very life-like. The green and the blue colours of the dogs are quite cheerful and much better than realistic dog colours. There is no barrier between these statues and their live dog counterparts so often the live dogs will closely inspect these watchful statues.
'Animalis' is Latin for “having breath.”
You will find these two dogs within the fences of the off-leash dog area in Allan Gardens which is on the south side of Carlton Street, on the southwest corner of Carlton Street and Sherbourne Street.
